Profile and Prediction

A couple of days ago I had my "20 Week Detailed Anatomy Scan" at the hospital so Steve and I got to see our little one bouncing around on the screen once again! Actually, he was being pretty lazy and refused to get off of his back, so the technician had a hard time getting a picture of his little spine. Oops, looks like I might have passed on the laziness gene! :/
Here is a picture of his little head and face!

The technician told me that he was already in the birthing position (head down) and I was so proud! It's so silly, but I was like, "That's my baby, he's exactly where he's supposed to be!" Yeah, I know...

So as you might have noticed...I'm still referring to baby as HIM because it's official now! He is definitely 99% sure a BOY! It's "99%" because the technicians aren't allowed to say "100%".

So I will share a little story with all of you. WAY back at the beginning of the pregnancy, I was probably about 8 or 9 weeks, I went to Victoria's Secret with a friend and bought a few pairs of underwear and I bought the style called "Boy Bikini". Well, I wore the underwear the next day and I guess I forgot to take the style sticker off because when I woke up in the morning, this was on my belly:

Right then I knew the baby was a boy. It was definitely a sign for me! I mean...I had "BOY" spelled out right on my stomach!
Only 20 weeks to go!

Hungry Hungry Hippo

For starters...Steve and I got a new digital camera! I found our old one on the floor during a Jack's Mannequin concert so it was pretty banged up AND it took about 3 whole minutes to load between taking each picture...many a good moments were not captured because of that 3 minutes. Here is us trying out our new camera for the first time:

Steve was making me laugh, that's why my smile is extra big. lol.

So yesterday morning, Steve woke up and made me homemade apples and cinnamon oatmeal! It was SO delicious...AND the best part is, I got to eat it in my favorite little bowl:

I don't know anyone who could look at this little bowl and be grumpy.
And here is my yummy oatmeal:

Nommy, nom, nom...I ate two bowls O_O;

So the only thing I really accomplished yesterday was cleaning up and organizing the spare room/soon-to-be the baby's nursery! I wish I would have taken a "before" picture, but I forgot. Well, here's the after picture at least:

Everything in the left side of the picture needs to be donated or sold (including the bike) so I have a lot of work ahead of me...

After all that hard work, I was super hungry (what's new?) so I made some yummy french fries (I was craving miracle whip so I needed to make something to go with it lol):

After posting all these food related pictures, I'm hungry again.... :)

A BooBoo & A Seahorse

This is not related to babies or married people, but look what I did today! I twisted my ankle and fell down on the concrete resulting in torn tights and a bleeding knee:
Underneath that band aid is a big, mangled, bleeding mess. OUCH.

Anyway, most people get really excited over baby clothes, but I get excited over baby TOYS because I can play with them too! They are usually bright, colorful, and play kind of toy. So Steve and I have only bought our baby two toys so far and this is my favorite one:

It's the softest (and cutest) little seahorse ever! When you push on it's tummy it plays different lullabies and makes underwater sounds. One of the songs it plays is Pachelbel's Canon in D aka the song I walked down the aisle to! My niece Maleigha has this seahorse and she loves it and I watched a bunch of YouTube videos of babies being instantly soothed by this seahorse. So at least once a day we put the seahorse on my belly and play the lullabies for the baby. Hopefully once he is here, he will recognize the music and it will soothe him too.

I mean, the music calms me down so it's worth a shot, right?

Welcome to "The Nutshell"

Hello friends and family! I was inspired to start this blog by the wonderful and amazing Kandee Johnson who is a mother, makeup artist, and all around amazing person and role model. ( Anyway, I want to use this blog to document my journey as a wifey and a new mommy (in approximately 5 months!). I don't really want to put all of this up on Facebook to share with everyone because believe it or not, A LOT of people don't like babies, children, or married people. If you need proof of this, visit and look at the babies/children section...then read some of the comments people write!
This way, only people who care about babies, children, and married people will be visiting this blog!
Anyway... here is me becoming a wifey on June 21st, 2008:

Wait, let's back up a second.
Here is me and Steve on our first date, November 19th, 2005:

And here is me and Steve right after he proposed on March 18th, 2007:

So, that leaves a pretty big gap between June 21st, 2008 and January 22, 2010 but here is the most exciting thing that happened to us between that time and it occurred on October 18, 2009 (yes, I am really big on remembering dates!):

Yes people, I peed on those! And TA-DA!!! look what happened!
And now I look like this:

18 weeks pregnant and getting bigger by the day O_O.
So check back here often for more of "sparkleseester as wife and mommy!"
p.s. sparkleseester is ME! it's the name I use for all things internet :)
